Even with the option to overwrite file check on, the program fails to do so.
In case it makes a difference, I'm running WindowsXP Pro SP2.

I tested the overwrite option and works fine.

Overwrite will not work on Read-Only files, just to avoid overwriting an already protected file.

Intelligent Copier will not overwrite older files if proper flag was defined in Defaults.

I was having that problem even with "Overwrite existing files" selected in the appropriate rule, or are you referring to something else?

Hello,

Default rules have 2 global settings to consider:
  1) Overwrite Existing Files
  2) Skip Older Files

Even if "Overwrite Existing Files" checkbox is checked, IC will not overwrite an already existing target file with Read-Only attribute.

If an already existing target file is not read-only, but is newer than source file (and "Skip Older Files" is checked), file is not processed, is skipped.

The overwrite option works as designed, nothing wrong.

Regards,

Daniel

I think that I may have found the problem. I had the rule set to 'move'. Once I turned that off it worked fine. Undecided Which means that I have to manually delete the files.

The Move option, for safety, will not move any file if already exists a target.

I'll ehnace this for next release, I need to figure how to handle a log if you move a file that already exists.

I'd be happy with a toggle somewhere.
Also, I'm glad to know that it's not just some wierdness on my end. Wink

I'll need to think in another method, specially to handle some "removal" procedures when users want to remove what they added.

Don't worry about it, the "Move" method I decided was the "safe" one.
