I downloaded the tria, version to test network clipboard.  It installed fine on both my Windows 98 and XP machines (conected via a small in-home network).  The version on both sides seems to work fine, but neither computer sees the 'users' on the other side.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Network Clipboard will not look for users on your network. For security reasons, it works with predefined computers you want to access in your network.

Please go to Main Menu / Options / Preferences, select Network Settings tab and click Scan button once. Network Clipboard will scan your network for available computers to add to the Computer's list. Also, you may add computers manually: click Computers button and select Add Computers option from popup menu.

Put a check mark to all computers you want to grant access to your computer's Network Clipboard. Be sure all computers on your network uses the same Default port (default is port number 6000). If you use firewall software, authorize Network Clipboard to work on specified port.

Select all computers you work most and drag them to the Favorite computers box.

Configuring Users

Now you can configure Users that can access (or denied) your computer's Network Clipboard. Select Security tab and right-click the Authorized Users box and select Add User option. Enter all authorized usernames (Windows login names), if you want to add more than one user just enter one username in a new line.

Put a checkmark on users you want to grant authorization to your clipboard content (if you want more control, you may check Authorize first box to be asked before send your clipboard content to an authorized user. Is you uncheck the box next to a username, that user will not have access and you'll not be asked for authorization.

Select the usernames you'll work most, then drag and drop to the Favorite Users box.

Automatic Learning Mode

Instead of specify users manually, you may expect remote users on your network to connect to your Network Clipboard. You'll receive a notification about that user (if Learning mode is enabled) and you may authorize or deny access (and add your response to Security preferences).
