Title: Looking for a unidirectional clipboard
Post by DWebber on Mar 21st, 2008 at 11:47am
I'm looking for a unidirectional clipboard, i.e., from a remote
computer to a server but not the other direction.  Can this be done
with Network Clipboard?  A possible solution is to configure Network
Clipboard on the server side to receive but not be able to send.
Please advise.  Thanks.

Hello,

Yes, you're right. You may configure the "Sender-Only" computer to start without server enabled (just uncheck the “Start Server on startup” option on “Server-Only” Network Clipboard’s computer. Open Network Clipboard, go to Main Menu>Options>Preferences, then Preferences tab). Click Apply button to save changes.

The “Receive-Only computer” should not propagate Clipboard content, so “Auto-Send” feature must be disabled. To disable this, just open Network Clipboard’s at “Receive-Only computer”, go to Options and Preferences (same as above), choose the Auto-send tab, and specify the Auto-send option: Disable send my clipboard automatically. Click Apply button to save changes.

If you need any further assistance, please don’t hesitate contact me.

Have a nice weekend,

Daniel

Hello Admin,

I'd like to add to this thread with a question. Can I secure the receiving clipboard so users may access the clipboard, but not send? E.g Developers wanting to copy content from remote user device to sever environment [Their remote Virtual workspace on a Windows Server]; however, at the same time preventing them from sending clipboard content from Server Workspace to remote user device.

Thanks!
