Today I found that AVG Fixed their database and now shows Comparator Fast as clean.

Virustotal.com's report: http://www.virustotal.com/file-scan/report.html?id=96f0727263913fe01fcf0285fa297...

ClamAV still shows that unfair "detection"....

An active customer and user of AVG just sent me this email, it may help:

Hello Daniel

That worked.  Thanks.

But switch off the anti virus protection first – another option available – so I could install and use the program to select the EXE and exclude it from detection.

As I have been running AVG 2011 for over a month and the last definition update was a week ago I don’t know why it now detected a false fault.

Kind regards

Thanks to G. McMullon, I noticed Comparator Fast's main executable is detected as "virus" by two popular Antivirus programs: Avg and ClamAV.

Just to be sure, I submitted the main executable to VirusTotal.com and all antivirus programs are fine, but the 2 mentioned. This is a False Positive. You may see the report at: http://www.virustotal.com/file-scan/report.html?id=96f0727263913fe01fcf0285fa297..., you may submit or resubmit any file you want.

If you use Avg / ClamAV, you may need to add ComparatorFast.exe as exclusion to avoid false detections until they fix this on their databases.

Instructions for add exclusions on Avg found at this link: http://www.avg.com/ww-en/faq?num=2011.

ClamAV have a history reporting false positives for popular software like Yahoo Messenger, etc. (http://forums.clamwin.com/viewtopic.php?t=1889&highlight=add+exclusion)
I'm not able to confirm about this, on the previous link you may found instructions about how to add exclusions on ClamAV, please follow your antivirus manual for this or any other security topic.

Please help, if you use Avg / ClamAV, report ComparatorFast.exe as False Positive.

I already reported this using proper webforms on Avg and ClamAV websites, hope they fix this fast:
