Connect to Remote Shutdown Manager

This option allows you to connect to a remote computer running Shutdown Manager and perform several tasks.

 

 

 

Select the remote computer you want to connect, and click the Connect button. This will start scan the remote computer and looking for logged users with Shutdown Manager started.

 

Select User button.

 

If you enter the remote Shutdown Manager Server, you'll get the Process tab activated automatically. If you can't connect, please check:

 - Remote computer is On and with Shutdown Manager loaded and Server mode enabled on same ports.

 Log on the  tab, this may contain remote Server response and helps you to detect what's the problem.

 - Check the defined password is the same for both Shutdown Manager.

 

16x16 Note You may create group of computers to process, just uncheck the "Main Level" check box when adding a new host, or create a Main Level host, and drag and drop all other defined hosts to the new one created. If you want to get any dropped host back to Main Level, just drag and drop it to the container node (main level group name).

 

 

Process Options

 

Parameters group allows you to set remote Shutdown Manager parameters to process. The parameters are transmitted to remote Shutdown Manager when you click the Apply

 

Remote Status group appears only when you're connected to a remote Shutdown Manager. Here you'll see the remote Shutdown Manager current settings like Seconds to Wait, Power Off, Force Termination, Beep.

 

 

Remote Button

 

The Remote button allows you quickly access to some options that you may found also on the Other Options group.

 

Remote Sample: enable (check) this option to view a sample screen of remote Shutdown Manager main window you are connected to.

 

Remote Screen: enable (check) this option to get a screenshot of the remote computer you are connected to.

 

Restore Remote Window: select this option if you wan to show (restore) a minimized remote Shutdown Manager main window. When a window is minimized, some views are hidden.

 

Minimize Remote Window: select this option to minimize the remote Shutdown Manager window.

 

Quality: Sets your default image quality settings for the Remote Sample and Remote Screenshot. The higher quality is 100%, and the resulting screenshot can takes twice the space of a  setting.

 

 

 

 

View Log: check to see the log window, uncheck to hide it. Hiding log will clear all contents too.

 

Remote Sample: enable (check) this option to view a sample screen of remote Shutdown Manager main window you are connected to. The slider allows you to specify the number of seconds to wait before get a remote sample.

 

Remote Screen: enable (check) this option to get a screenshot of the remote computer you are connected to.

 

 

Parameters Tab

 

Linger Option: change this only if you can't get a connection to work. Linger is a special setting of Winsock, a used Windows component for communications. The Connect to Remote Shutdown was designed to work in a LAN (Local Area Network) environment, tested on a default 10/100BT speed.

 

Users to Scan for: move the slider to calibrate how many users to scan for on remote computer. New operating systems, like Windows XP, allows several users to be logged at the same time.
